DFARS 252.215-7000 Reserved (the number formerly carried 'Pricing Adjustments')
Does the regulation require it to flow down?
No
There is nothing to flow down. It survives in prime templates because flowdown matrices are maintained by addition and almost never by deletion: all three corpus documents citing it are old — icrc-hienergy-tm-subcontract-2005 (with the 'DEC/1991' designation spelled out), lmi-applieddna-subcontract-1124-2011, and caci-corvus-labor-hour-subcontract-2020 — and none was re-scrubbed after the 2018 repeal.
A clause can reach your subcontract without a mandate. Once it is in your document, it is a contract term all the same. The missing mandate is a fact about the regulation. It is not a ruling on your order.
Checked against acquisition.gov on 2026-08-05 · edition none in force — the acquisition.gov page for 252.215-7000 reads only 'Reserved' (page metadata: DFARS Change 5/7/2026, effective 2026-05-07, last updated 2026-08-04). The last codified designation was DEC 1991, which is exactly what the corpus still cites. · base v0.9.3 Read the text ↗

DFARS 252.215-7000
When it is used
None — the DFARS number is Reserved. There is no clause text, and DFARS 215.408 as published on 2026-08-05 runs (1) through (8) with no prescription for 252.215-7000 anywhere in it. When the text was in force it defined 'pricing adjustment' as the aggregate increases and/or decreases in cost plus applicable profits, for use with the DFARS cost-or-pricing-data clauses. DoD removed it as duplicative of the FAR coverage under DFARS Case 2018-D032 (final rule published in the Federal Register 2018-06-29) — that case number and date come from a secondary source, because acquisition.gov publishes only the word 'Reserved' with no removal history (unconfirmed).

A clause list carrying a struck number is a fact about the list, and it can be handed back as one. Where a price adjustment is what the buyer meant, the instruments that define one are FAR 52.215-10 through 52.215-13 and the FAR 52.243 changes clauses, each carrying its own definition in its own text.
Source: acquisition.gov, DFARS 252.215-7000 (the page reads 'Reserved') and DFARS 215.408, which contains no prescription for it (verified 2026-08-05); the repeal case DFARS Case 2018-D032 and its 2018-06-29 publication date come from federalregister.gov — a secondary source, so the repeal's effective date carries (unconfirmed)
This is research, not legal advice. It states what the regulation says about this clause and cites the paragraph behind it. It does not rule on your order, and it does not rule on whether a prime's markings are correct.
