What it makes you produce
One item for your checklist.
Something you write
Days to weeks, and nobody outside your company has to agree to it.
A written request naming the information, the medium and the purpose, filed with the buyer at least 10 business days before the planned release
DFARS 252.204-7000(b)
When it is used
Prescribed at 204.404-70(a) for DoD contracts where the contractor will have access to (or generate) sensitive unclassified information. Flows down via (c) to every subcontract, with no dollar threshold.
Read closely
Paragraph (a) is a restriction rather than a deliverable, so nothing is owed at the order. The paper appears only when you want to talk publicly about the work, and paragraph (c) puts a similar requirement into your own purchase orders.

This is research, not legal advice. It states what the regulation says about this clause and cites the paragraph behind it. It does not rule on your order, and it does not rule on whether a prime's markings are correct.
