- FAR 52.222-41(c)(2)(ii)
Standard Form 1444, Request for Authorization of Additional Classification and Rate, submitted to the buyer
Owed when a class of employee that the wage determination does not list performs work on the contract — the form is due no later than 30 days after that work begins
When it is used
Service contracts > $2,500 performed in the US with service employees (statutory threshold, not adjustable).
Read closely
The rates come from the wage determination attached to the order, by occupational category, and those move on their own schedule rather than the clause's. A misclassified worker is a retroactive wage liability. Paragraph (p) is a certification made by entering into the contract rather than a document to send. Paragraph (l) puts the clause into every subcontract subject to the statute, and paragraph (m) deals with a collective bargaining agreement covering service employees on a predecessor contract.

Source: acquisition.gov, FAR 52.222-41, codified text read at FAC 2026-01 (effective 2026-03-13), prescribed at 22.1006(a) with designation (Aug 2018); the RFO Part 52 disposition table prescribes it at 22.1002-2(b)(1) and prints (Deviation DATE), so the model text is rewritten rather than carried over (verified 2026-08-09)
This is research, not legal advice. It states what the regulation says about this clause and cites the paragraph behind it. It does not rule on your order, and it does not rule on whether a prime's markings are correct.
