What it makes you produce
2 items for your checklist, slowest first.
A program you have to be running
You are either running it or you are not, and what the prime asks for is the date it started.
E-Verify running inside hiring — a case opened for each new hire within three business days of the date of hire, starting within 90 calendar days of enrollment
FAR 52.222-54(b)(1)(ii)
A state you have to be in, in a government system
The record has to be posted before the prime can see it, and posting is not the same day as being ready.
Enrollment as a Federal Contractor in E-Verify, within 30 calendar days of award
FAR 52.222-54(b)(1)(i)
When it is used
Prescription: contracts > $150,000 (FIXED threshold — did not follow the SAT), except COTS-only, work only outside the US, or period < 120 days. For the sub: services or construction > $3,500 in the US.
Read closely
Enrollment is free and the memorandum of understanding is signed online, so the second row is not about cost: it is a practice that is either running on your hiring or it is not, and the date it started is the answerable fact. Each employee assigned to the contract is verified within 90 calendar days of enrollment or within 30 calendar days of the assignment, whichever is later (paragraph (b)(1)(iii)); paragraph (d) covers individuals previously verified. Paragraph (e) carries the requirements into subcontracts for services or construction over $3,500 with work in the United States, leaving out commercial services bought as part of a commercially available off-the-shelf item. The prime-level threshold is $150,000 and did not move in the 2025-10-01 adjustment. A pure supplies scope is outside the prescription, which reaches services and construction.

This is research, not legal advice. It states what the regulation says about this clause and cites the paragraph behind it. It does not rule on your order, and it does not rule on whether a prime's markings are correct.
